So far, 4 seasons and 2 movies of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime have been released, along with OAD recaps, special episodes, and a side series called The Slime Diaries. Any new fan thinking about starting this series has a lot of confusion about which movie to watch when, whether movies are canon, and which special episode to watch after which episode. Not watching in the correct That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime watch order can make the story confusing and ruin the experience. Newbies struggle the most. So don’t worry all these questions are answered in this article
Tensura Season 1 Watch Order – Episodes, OADs and the Veldora Special
First, you need to watch Season 1, which has a total of 24 episodes. Season 1 shows Rimuru’s Tempest origins in Goblins Village. In Special Episode 24 named Black and Mask, the back story of Shizu and Diablo is told – that is, the story before the start of the series.
Now after watching the entire Season 1, two OAD episodes named Hey! Butts! and The Tragedy of Men both can be watched after Episode 20 of Season 1. The story of both episodes is set between Episode 16 and Episode 20 of Season 1. Both are non-canon fun fan-service filler episodes. In OAD 1, the people of Tempest explore sumo wrestling, and in OAD 2, a funny misunderstood story between Shizu and Rimuru Tempest is shown.
After this, you have a special recap episode called Veldora’s Journal. Watch it immediately after Episode 24 of Season 1. This recaps Season 1 from Veldora’s perspective.
Slime Diaries and Episode 0 – What to Watch Before Season 2
After Veldora’s Journal, watch Slime Diaries 12 episodes, a side story with nothing to do with the main story. It is a fun slice-of-life series set entirely between Season 1 and Season 2.
Before watching Episode 1 of Season 2, watch Episode 0 – Digression by Hinata Sakaguchi. This episode gives a glimpse of Hinata Sakaguchi’s backstory and how she came into the slime world. This is an important episode to understand Hinata’s character.
Tensura Season 2 Watch Order – Specials, Vision of Coleus and Veldora’s Journal
Season 2 is very much about the changes in the world of the slime and all his enemies. In Season 2, Rimuru becomes a Demon Lord from a normal slime and Veldora also comes out of Infinite Prison. Season 2 has a total of 7 special episodes.
Episodes 3, 4, and 5 are named Rimuru’s Glamorous Life as Teacher these are canon. Watch them after Episode 4 of Season 2. They tell the story of Rimuru’s children studying.
The 3-episode mini series Vision of Coleus should be watched after Episode 5 of Season 2. It is set just before the conflicts of Season 2. The Veldora’s Journal Part 2 recap should be watched after Episode 12 of Season 2.
That time i Got Reincarnated as a Slime Scarlet Bond Movie – When to Watch and Is It Important?

After watching Season 2, watch the Scarlet Bond movie. This movie tells the story of a Raja Kingdom and the story related to the practice of Benimaru. This is important for the story because the characters of this movie are seen later in the story.
Tensura Season 3 Watch Order – Including the Digression Diablo Special
After Scarlet Bond, watch the entire Season 3. In Season 3, we are shown the story of politics, friendship, and Tempest’s efforts to become a world power rather than fights. Season 3 has one special episode Digression Diablo which should be watched after completing Season 2 and just before starting Season 3. It tells the story of Diablo and the Demon Lords.
Tensura Tears of the Azure Sea Movie – Should You Watch It Before Season 4?
After Season 3, watch a movie called That time i Got Reincarnated as a Slime the Movie: Tears of the Azure Sea. This movie acts as a bridge between Season 3 and Season 4. It begins after the Tempest Founder Festival ends, where Rimuru Tempest and his friends go to a private resort to relax.
Is this movie important? The answer is both important and not this movie was supervised by TenSura creator Fuse himself, but the story is not canon. You won’t miss anything if you skip it. But I would still say you should watch it because you get to see good glimpses of Season 4.
After this movie, watch Season 4 directly. I have covered the entire watch order of TenSura. If you watch it in this order, you will understand everything. If you have any questions, please ask in the comments.
