Fall 2026 is absolutely attacking my anime watchlist. 😂This season has a crazy mix of returning favorites, new fantasy series, romance, sports, isekai, action, cozy shows and some anime concepts that make you stop and say, “Who even came up with this?” 😂
We’ve got Black Clover Season 2, The Apothecary Diaries Season 3, Aoashi Season 2, Sasaki and Peeps Season 2, Firefly Wedding, Overgeared, PSYREN, The Vermilion Mask, Reborn as a Space Mercenary and plenty more.
So if you’re trying to figure out what’s coming in Fall 2026, when each anime releases, where you can watch it and what the story is about, here’s the lineup.

🍀 Black Clover Season 2

After a long wait, Asta and the Magic Knights are finally back! 🗡️🔥 Asta has no magic, but somehow this guy continues to cause problems for people who have plenty of it. 😂 Season 2 continues the story with the Magic Knights facing even bigger threats and the conflict surrounding the Spade Kingdom and the Dark Triad.
If you’ve been waiting years to hear Asta screaming again. Your peace is officially over. 😂 For Black Clover fans, this is easily one of the biggest returning anime of the season.

The Apothecary Diaries Season 3

Maomao is back, and that means someone in the palace is probably about to get exposed. 😂 Season 3 continues Maomao’s story as she gets involved in another collection of mysteries and political problems. Her knowledge of medicine, poison and human behavior once again becomes extremely useful.
What I love about The Apothecary Diaries is that it doesn’t need massive battles to keep you interested. Give Maomao one suspicious-looking cup and she’ll probably uncover an entire conspiracy. 🧪👀
⚔️ Overgeared
📅 Early premiere: September 27, 2026

Overgeared brings another classic gaming/fantasy setup. Most awaited show everyone was waiting for this. The story follows a struggling gamer who discovers the secrets of a legendary blacksmith and starts building himself into a much more powerful player.
Basically our hero is bad player but shocking thing is that he has legendary weapons/equipment. After everyone know that weak guy has crazy legendary weapons the suddenly now everybody has problem with him.
If you enjoy MMORPG-style anime, character progression, crafting and watching an underdog become ridiculously powerful, this one should be on your radar.
❤️ Firefly Wedding

This is one of those romance premises where you immediately think: Yeah this relationship needs a therapist. 😂
A noblewoman facing a serious illness proposes marriage to an assassin who kidnaps her because she wants to survive. It’s romance, but with murder, danger and a very questionable foundation for a healthy relationship. 💀❤️ The premise alone makes Firefly Wedding one of the more unusual romance anime of Fall 2026.
If you like dramatic historical romance with dangerous characters, keep an eye on this one.
The Laid-Off Cheat-Granting Mage Enjoys a Second Lease on Life

Getting fired usually means updating your résumé.
For Rein, apparently it means becoming overpowered. 😂🔥 After being kicked out of his guild, Rein starts a new chapter of his life and gets the opportunity to show what he’s actually capable of. It’s another satisfying “you underestimated the wrong person” fantasy.
If you enjoy underdogs getting their revenge by becoming ridiculously strong, this could be your kind of show.
The Vermilion Mask

This one goes in a much darker direction. Peru is an apprentice mask maker whose master and friends are killed because of mysterious masks. Naturally, Peru isn’t going to just sit there and forget about it. He sets out on a journey to destroy the masks responsible.
The mysterious masks, revenge story and darker fantasy setting make this one stand out from the lighter shows in the season.

Football fans, it’s time. Ashito has made it to the elite A team, but getting there doesn’t mean the hard part is over. Now he’s surrounded by even stronger players and has to prove that he belongs at that level. Aoashi has always been more interested in football development, tactics and understanding the game rather than simply giving everyone magical football powers. 😂⚽
If you enjoyed Season 1, Season 2 should be an easy addition to the weekly schedule.

Sasaki and Peeps Season 2

Sasaki wanted a quiet life. Then he got a magical bird. And things became complicated very quickly. 😂🐦 Season 2 continues the bizarre combination of fantasy, supernatural powers and everyday life that made the first season so unusual.
The premise still sounds like something someone invented after staring at a pet bird for too long. And honestly, I’m here for it.
Uncle’s Obsession with Cute Things

This title basically tells you the joke already. 😂 A serious-looking man has an unexpected obsession with cute things, and his life starts changing because of it. It’s the kind of setup that can deliver plenty of wholesome comedy. If you’re looking for something lighter between all the fantasy battles and dramatic romances, this could be a fun watch.
🚀 Reborn as a Space Mercenary
📅 Release: October 4, 2026

Isekai, but this time we’re leaving the fantasy kingdom behind. The protagonist finds himself inside the universe of a sci-fi game he knows well and ends up becoming a space mercenary. Expect spaceships, battles, futuristic technology and the usual “I know this world better than everyone else” advantage.
It’s basically: What if your gaming knowledge became your biggest survival skill? If you enjoy sci-fi mixed with isekai, definitely keep this one on the list.

🎮 FX Fighter Kurumi-chan

This might be one of the strangest titles in the lineup. Instead of fighting monsters or demons, Kurumi enters the world of foreign-exchange trading. Yep.
Anime is really willing to turn absolutely anything into a battle. One bad trade and the final boss might be your bank account. 😂 If you’re curious about a completely different kind of anime premise, FX Fighter Kurumi-chan could be worth checking out.
🌙 Dreamland
📅 Release: October 16, 2026

Dreamland takes us into a world where dreams and nightmares become the foundation of the story. The premise gives it a more mysterious and imaginative fantasy atmosphere compared with the straightforward action shows this season. The exact appeal will probably depend heavily on how much you enjoy dream-based fantasy and slower storytelling.
And honestly, sometimes an anime about dreams is exactly what you need after watching twelve episodes of people screaming while powering up. 😂
PSYREN
📅 Release: October 2026 exact date TBA

PSYREN is another title I’ve got my eye on. The story follows Ageha as he becomes involved with mysterious disappearances and a dangerous game that pulls him into something much bigger. The series has a darker mystery/supernatural setup, so don’t expect the cozy vibes of Uncle’s Obsession with Cute Things here.
The important thing is that Crunchyroll has announced the October 2026 window, but an exact premiere date hasn’t been confirmed yet, so don’t trust random websites giving you a specific day unless the official schedule changes.
🪄 Magic Knight Rayearth

A new Magic Knight Rayearth adaptation is arriving this Fall. The story follows Hikaru, Umi and Fuu, three girls who are transported into a fantasy world and become involved in a much bigger adventure.
For longtime anime fans, this one has an obvious nostalgia factor. For newcomers, it’s a chance to experience the classic story through a new adaptation. One thing to check before planning your watch, though: Crunchyroll’s current regional availability listing doesn’t include India for this title, so availability may depend on where you’re watching from.
🐱 Paw & Palaces

Okay, this is another one where the premise makes you say: Cats protecting ancient treasures inside the Forbidden City? Yes. 😂🐱🏯
The story follows cats living around Beijing’s Forbidden City who become involved with magical worlds and the protection of ancient treasures. It’s adorable, weird and completely different from something like Black Clover. Unfortunately, Crunchyroll’s current regional list doesn’t show India for this title, so Indian viewers should check their local streaming options before planning around it.
❄️ The Iceblade Sorcerer Shall Rule the World II

Ray is back. The Iceblade Sorcerer continues his magical-school adventure as new conflicts emerge, including battles involving rival schools and the Magicks War. If you watched the first season and enjoyed its combination of magic school, action and overpowered protagonist energy, this is the continuation you’ve been waiting for.

The Exiled Heavy Knight Knows How to Game the System

Elymas gets rejected because his Heavy Knight class is considered useless. Unfortunately for everyone who underestimated him, he knows exactly how to exploit the system. This is another one for fans of game mechanics, fantasy progression and characters who turn a supposedly useless ability into something terrifying.
One clarification: this is a continuing Fall title rather than a brand-new “Part 2” premiere, so I wouldn’t label it as Season 2 unless an official announcement specifically does so.

My Fall 2026 Watchlist
Looking at this season, my personal watchlist is getting dangerously long. 😂 The shows that immediately stand out to me are:
Black Clover Season 2 for the big action and long-awaited return. 🗡️🔥
The Apothecary Diaries Season 3 for Maomao’s mysteries and smart storytelling. 🧪
Firefly Wedding for the unusual romance setup. ❤️💀
Overgeared and The Laid-Off Cheat-Granting Mage for that satisfying power-progression feeling. ⚔️
Aoashi Season 2 for football fans. ⚽
PSYREN for the darker supernatural mystery.
And then you’ve got the completely different side of the season with Uncle’s Obsession with Cute Things and Paw & Palaces. 🐱😂 That’s what I like about Fall 2026. You don’t have to watch the same type of anime all season.

🔥 My View on These Upcoming Anime
Fall 2026 looks packed. There are sequels we’ve been waiting for, completely new fantasy stories, strange comedy concepts, romance, sports and enough overpowered protagonists to destroy several fictional worlds. 😂
Some of these shows will probably become weekly favorites, while others might end up being the anime you drop after three episodes.
That’s normal. You don’t need to watch everything. Pick the stories that actually sound fun to you, grab some snacks, and enjoy the season. 🍿❤️ And if you’re anything like me, you’ll say I’m only watching five anime this season before the season starts.
Then somehow you’re watching fifteen. 😂
