Disney Twisted-Wonderland is based on a dark, fantasy isekai (another world) The Story follows a regular, magicless high school student who is suddenly transported through a magic mirror into an alternate world called Twisted Wonderland. The students wakes up inside a coffin at Night Raven College, an elite, all-boys academy for exceptionally gifted mages. Because the protagonist has absolutely no magic and no way to return home, the eccentric, masked Headmaster (Dire Crowley) allows them to stay in exchange for working as a Prefect to keep order among the school’s highly problematic, chaotic students.
Partnering up with a Headmaster, fire-breathing monster cat named Grim, The school is divided into seven distinct dormitories, each inspired by the grand spirit of a classic Disney Villain. The story is broken into episodic chapters focusing on a single dorm at a time.
The story mostly around Overblot a dangerous state where a mage uses too much magic combined with severe emotional trauma, stress, or ambition. When a student Overblots, they summon a massive, ink-like monster behind them, lose their sanity, and attack the school. It is up to the magicless protagonist, Grim, and the other students to fight them, force them out of the Overblot state, and help them heal from their inner emotional demons.
