The Loss Arc – What is it About?

The first part of Season 4 covers Arc 6 of the light novel series, known as the Pleiades Watchtower Arc which fans consider to be the darkest and most psychologically brutal arc ever written by Tappei Nagatsuki.

Following the events of Season 3, Subaru and his companions barely survive the attacks of the Witch Cult Archbishop in Priestella’s Watergate City. However, victory came at a steep price:

• Rem remains in an endless sleep after her existence was devoured by the Authority of Gluttony
• Crusch had her memories stolen
• julius was deprived of his name by the same authority

Determined to find a cure, Subaru learns of a legendary sage named Shaula, who is said to know everything and possess all knowledge. Shaula resides in the Pleiades Watchtower a mysterious tower located at the very edge of the world, overlooking the vast Ogria Sand Dunes. Even the kingdom’s greatest warrior, Reinhard van Astrea, was unable to break through the barrier surrounding this tower.

Subaru, along with Emilia, Beatrice, Ram, Julius, Anastasia (who now resides in Echidna), Meili, and a sleeping Rem, set out to reach the tower by crossing dangerous sand dunes  a journey filled with animals, mysterious obstacles, and psychological terrors.

The Recapture Arc – What Comes After?

The Recapture arc will begin on August 12, 2026, and will consist of 8 episodes. This second arc will follow the events at the end of the Loss arc in which Subaru will be forced to understand what Return by Death really is, and the price he will pay for it, which has only been hinted at previously in the show.
